We are delighted to share our achievements throughout the past year, providing support and funding for maritime groups and projects in the Boroughs of Lambeth and Wandsworth.
Although the amounts of funding we can offer is not in the big league, our philosophy is every little bit helps, and since our formation in 2024, we have been working hard to target specific causes and providing help for various projects through the generosity of our benefactor, Ray Perkins.
Key achievements from the past year include:
Wandsworth: The renewal of Wandsworth Youth River Club’s lease required the expertise of a solicitor, and this one-off exceptional expense will keep the centre going for a further 15 years. Additional funding for minor refurbishments to their clubhouse were agreed.
Lambeth: A grant to the 4th Streatham Mercury Explorer Scout Unit.
Other areas: We have obtained two second-hand gigs from Scout groups in Lymington and Southampton.
Both vessels required work to get them ready for use, and the Trust has been undertaking the work in our own boathouse with the help of young people from our Explorer and Scout sections, and also with the help of a local boatyard in Richmond.
