  • Supporting the cost of courses and coaching

About Ray

Ray was a lifelong and active member of the 4th Streatham Sea Scouts. He became a leader in 1939, before taking command of the Group in 1962. Known as “Skip” Perkins to his fellow Sea Scouts, he was Assistant County Commissioner for Sea Activities during the 1970s and became Life Group President in 1996.

Following his death in 2012, Ray’s wishes were for the creation of a Trust to support and encourage young people from the South London boroughs of Lambeth and Wandsworth to follow his passion for maritime activity, whether from sailing, rowing, navigation, or indeed anything related to the sea.
