Application guidance

Useful information to assist you in making an application to the Ray Perkins Trust for funding.

The Ray Perkins Fund is set up to benefit young person’s nautical groups and associations that primarily operate on the River Thames. Additionally, these should be based in Wandsworth or Lambeth. Activities may include those provided by third party organisations away from the River Thames.

The main object of the Trust is to provide financial assistance to help young person’s nautical associations that are based in Wandsworth and/or Lambeth to operate and expand their activities. Support for other similar activities can be considered at the discretion of the Trustees.

Applications are welcome for the activities listed below. There is no guarantee that applications will be successful. All applications must be sent to the scheme administrator and not to individual Trustees.

All applications must be supported by a cover letter setting out the request for funding in detail, together with receipts/estimates of costs where appropriate. Additionally, organisations applying for grants should provide a copy of their most recent annual financial statements.

Each organisation can make one application to the Fund per calendar year. The Trustees’ decision will be final in all cases.

All funding payments made by the Trust will be to bank accounts in the name of the recipient organisation only. The maximum annual award that will be made to any organisation will be £5,000.

Applications can be made for the acquisition of boating/nautical equipment to be acquired and used by the nautical association itself. Grants to cover expenses and general running costs of nautical associations, special projects such as overseas visits, day outings, water camps, approved courses run for coxing and coaching, and entry fee assistance for waterborne events and residential courses afloat.

All activities must be itemised and costed separately.
